Sardella scores OT winner as Tigers down Collingwood

Michael Sardella’s second goal of the game at 1:18 of overtime lifted the Aurora Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the host Collingwood Blues Tuesday night in Ontario Junior Hockey League Phillips Division action.

Sardella, along with Jeff Vanderlugt, also scored in the first period when Aurora took a 2-1 lead into the intermission. The teams were tied 2-2 after 40 minutes.

Netminder David Blair turned aside 21 shots for the win as the Tigers held a 41-23 edge in shots on goal.

The Tigers are scheduled to visit the North York Rangers tonight.
