York Regional Police are trying to find the driver of a pickup truck this afternoon after a collision in Aurora.

At about 11:30 a.m., officers were told the driver of an orange pickup truck had lost control near Murray Drive and Davis Road — north-east of Yonge Street and Industrial Parkway South — spun into a ditch, struck a brick sewer grate and a stop sign before fleeing, according to police spokesperson Const. Gary Phillips.

A witness told police the truck had almost struck a woman on the road and many children were in the area at the time, Const. Phillips said.

There was no description of the driver available.

If you see the truck, call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7100.
