YRT, Viva announce detours during Aurora Santa Claus parade

With Santa Claus arriving in Aurora tomorrow, York Region Transit and Viva buses will be re-routed during the big parade.

Route 98 and Viva Blue will be detoured from 3 to 8 p.m.

The northbound routes will run east on Orchard Heights, north on Old Yonge Street, west on St. John’s Sideroad and north on Yonge back to their regular routes, while the southbound route will be the same in reverse.

This route is in effect until 5:30 p.m.

From 5:30  to 8 p.m., the detour will affect the Routes 32, 33/33A, 98 and Viva Blue services.

Route 32 Aurora South — north end and eastbound on Wellington — will detour to right on Temperance, right on Tyler, right on George and left on Wellington back to the regular route.

Route 32 Aurora South — south end and eastbound on Murray Drive — will go right on Richardson Drive, left on Lee Gate, right on Henderson and back to the regular route.

Route 33/33A Wellington — westbound on Wellington — will go left on Wells, right on Mosley, right on Gurnett, right on Wellington and back to its regular route.

The Route 98 Yonge North and Viva Blue services will go east on St. John’s Sideroad, south on Industrial Parkway to Yonge Street and back to their original route when travelling southbound and north will be a reverse of the south route.
