No weather-related delays on public transit
York Region dodged its first major snowstorm of the season last night.
A winter storm warning had threatened to dump as much 30 centimetres of snow across the area, but mild temperatures turned the imminent snow to rain.
As a result, there were no extra delays on the morning commutes.
GO Train had an 18 to 20-minute delay on its Stouffville lines this morning, but that had nothing to do with weather.
Viva and York Region Transit vehicles were running up to 10 minutes behind schedule because of road conditions.
According to Environment Canada, temperatures in York Region are expected to remain above zero until Friday.
