Police have charged a man and youth in connection with a rash of graffiti in Georgina.
Between May 31 and June 18, 2008, 11 incidents of graffiti with the same tags — “Cheez Whiz” and “Genocide” — appeared in the Keswick area, painted on local businesses and road signs. Damage is estimated to be close to $10,000.
Following an investigation, police searched two homes in Georgina, seizing what officers refer to as "evidence related to the graffiti" as well as marijuana.
A 17-year-old male youth from Georgina is charged with eight counts of mischief and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He will appear in a Newmarket court July 30.
An 18-year-old Georgina man is charged with 11 counts of mischief and will be in court July 29.
Police are continuing their investigation and want you to report graffiti when you come across it. If you have information, call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7341, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave a tip at

put them to work
well growing up around that area, id say seeing they made the mess make them clean it up, no matter how long it takes. i think they would think twice the next time, and it would make others think before they did it.

(detective stribell... I hope you sleep well at night knowing that what you do has no impact what-so-ever on anything that goes on in this town. You are a drain on the economy. A leech.)

No economical damage, no physical damage, no one getting hurt in any way shape or form. You tell me why the police devote themselves to this instead of the host of other problems this town has

I dare anyone to come up with one instance where a would-be customer has refused to enter a store because of graffiti on the side of it. Or better yet, refused to travel through a town because of a doodle on their road signs.

I always had a good chuckle looking at American's and their war on drugs, as if they could ever win such a thing.. but we now face the same thing here in Georgina, except get this.. it's a war on GRAFFITI. That's right, a war on expression.
