Participants in a charity fundraiser got together and hit one out of the park as they raised $8,000 for Give A Miracle A Chance.

The tournament organizers donated the proceeds to help children living with cerebral palsy.

Eighteen teams participated in this year’s tournament.

And, co-ordinators are already looking forward to next year’s event, executive director Lynn Marles of Sutton said.

“Next year’s goal is to position ourselves so that we can increase the number of children we will be able to offer financial assistance to their families so they can also have the opportunity to participate in the Ability Camp’s hyperbaric oxygen and Conductive Education therapy program. We also plan to continue to build on the awareness of children who live with the challenges of their disabilities.”

The same group is hosting a golf tournament Sept. 14 at Mill Run Golf Club in Uxbridge. The day will kick off at 12 p.m.

The tournament offers 18 holes, with a cart, shotgun start and best ball.

The tournament package also includes prizes with four chances at a hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin, Ms Marles said.

The top prize is $10,000 for the hole-in-one along with three other prizes, Ms Marles said.

Registration fee is $110 per player and the organization is accepting teams of four or individuals players.
