The words, “Don’t worry, you’ll get over it” are only a myth for people grieving.
Hospice King-Aurora is hosting a presentation from Stephen Fleming, a professor from York University who specializes in the grief experience, common emotions and behaviours.
“Death is part of everyday life,” explained bereavement services co-ordinator Karen Simmonds.
Mr. Fleming, a notable international speaker in the area of grieving, will present new research on the subject.
The presentation focuses on grieving myths, the role of the deceased legacy and how grief differs from depression.
“This will help people support each other after a loss,” Ms Simmonds said.
To register for the seminar, contact Hospice King-Aurora at 905-773-0155 or info@hospicekingaurora.ca
