A Newmarket resident is hosting a simple dinner in an effort to bring awareness about hunger around the world.

Kathryn Meisner, 24, has the motivation to do something about it. Tomorrow night at the Christian Baptist Church on Main Street, Ms Meisner is making a special meal for residents. Proceeds from the event will help fund her volunteer trip to Kenya this winter.

The McGill graduate will be working with Free The Children in a school in Kenya. Her goal is to raise about $2,000 and she is a little less than half way there.
