York Regional Police are looking for witnesses to the sudden death of a 21-year-old Surrey, B.C., woman in a Markham all-ages night club this morning.

The women, who is not being identified until her family is notified, was at Club Rio on Woodbine Avenue near Hwy. 407.

A 911 call at  4:37 a.m, “for a female not breathing with no pulse” brought York Regional Police, firefighters and paramedics.

The victim was rushed to Markham Stouffville Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. A post mortem is scheduled for Sunday.

“We need the public’s help in locating the parties she was visiting while in Ontario, as well as two males who were seen with the female inside the club prior to her death,” Det. Const. Jim Woodcock said. “The deceased may have initially attended the club with an unknown female.”

Police are asking that anyone who was in the club Friday night and Saturday morning, especially witnesses, to call investigators at 905-881-1221 ext. 7541.
