A woman who died in a Markham all-ages club Saturday has been identified as Nicole Le, but the cause of her death remains unknown.

The family of the 21-year-old from Surrey, B.C., has consented to making public a photograph of the dead woman. Ms Le was found at Club Rio on Woodbine Avenue near Hwy. 407.

The results of the post mortem held Sunday were inconclusive, pending toxicology results, Det. Steve Morrell said.

The cause of death remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and York Regional Police.

A 911 call at 4:37 a.m, “for a female not breathing with no pulse” brought York Regional Police, firefighters and paramedics to the club Saturday.

The victim was rushed to Markham Stouffville Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police are asking that anyone who was in the club Friday night and Saturday morning, especially witnesses, to call investigators at 905-881-1221 ext. 7541.
