Markham Ribfest has stepped up its live entertainment.
“We’ve gone from well-known acts around Ontario to Colin James, well known internationally,” event chairperson Rick Firth said.
The weekend (Friday to Sunday, July 11 to 3) at the Markham Fairground offers a variety of culinary delights, including ribs and chicken, ice cream and yogurt, corn on the cob, yams, hamburgers, hotdogs, funnel cakes, popped corn, perogies, cabbage rolls, chicken fingers, burgers, smoothies and fresh cut fries.
Live music is featured on stage all weekend.
The beer tent serves cold beer and coolers to go with your ribs. Non-alcoholic beverages including lemonade is also available.
Free parking is available for more than 8,000 cars. No pets are allowed on the fairgrounds.
Admission on Friday, July 11, which features the Colin James show, is $20 at the gate.
On Saturday, July 12, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., there is an admission charge of $10 after 5 p.m. On Sunday, July 13, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission is free. Children under 16 are admitted free all weekend.
The Colin James concert is a rain or shine event.
