Newmarket's Burns bound for NCAA Divison 3 track finals

A Newmarket native will compete in this week's  NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships.

Cardinal Carter Catholic High School grad Stephen Burns will represent Rochester Institute of Technology in javelin.

Burns, a 2006 NCAA All-American and 2007 participant, will compete Saturday at noon. His top throw this season is 59.81 metres. In 2007, he shattered the school mark with a throw of 61.88 metres.
