Stouffville resident Corey Tanaka continues to wield a hot stick at the Memorial Cup.

He scored another goal yesterday, helping his Belleville Bulls defeat host Kitchener Rangers 4-3 in overtime in both club’s final round-robin game.

The 20-year-old Bulls centre scored at the 13:15-mark of the second period, cutting the Bulls' 3-0 first-period deficit to 3-2 through 40 minutes and setting the stage for their comeback.

He's tied for third-place among tournament scoring leaders.

Tanaka is the lone York Region product on the Bulls’ roster.

Kitchener's playoff roster includes Myles Barbieri of Kleinburg, former Thornhill Thunderbird Brandon Mashinter of Bradford, ex-Stouffville Spirit sniper Mike Duco and Markham Jr. A Waxers’ rookie of the year Michael Catenacci, a Woodbridge resident.

The Bulls, now 2-1 in the tournament will meet the Rangers again Friday in the semifinal at 7 p.m.

The winner will advance to Sunday’s final against the Spokane Chiefs at 4:30 p.m.
