Flooding on some York Region roads caused by heavy rainfall has prompted the following road closures in the City of Vaughan:

Rutherford Road from Napa Valley Drive to Forest Fountain Drive;

Pine Valley Drive from Major Mackenzie Drive to Rutherford Road;

The northbound lane of Jane Street north of Major Mackenzie Drive;

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for York Region, including the possibility of torrential downpours and hail, suggesting that more road flooding may be possible.

York Region is asking motorists to exercise caution while driving and to detour around the flooded areas of Jane Street, Pine Valley Drive and Rutherford Road.

Mr TJul 27, 2008 9:41A regular flooding
When flooding becomes a regular event, its time to look at design. This is the second time in five years that a major flood has hit the same area. This is no longer a hundred year storm. Fix the problem.
