Hawks pounce on Sox in GTBL series opener

Dan Dobson scattered five hits over eight innings and Kevin Holloway led the offence with three hits and scored four runs as the Newmarket Hawks defeated the Martingrove White Sox 5-2 in the opening game of a Greater Toronto Baseball League quarter-final playoff series Tuesday night with a 5-2 victory over the Martingrove White Sox at McKnight Field.

The best-of-three series is scheduled to resume tonight at Martingrove.
