Care for a free swim, skate or fitness centre visit?
Vaughan residents received a complimentary pass for one free recreational swim, skate or fitness centre visit with the city’s 2008/09 Fall and Winter Recreation Guide, which was delivered to homes last week.
The passes can be used at any city community centre.
“This is a wonderful way to encourage our residents to increase their participation in sports and physical activity and enhance their health and well-being,” Mayor Linda Jackson said.
“The city continuously strives to offer exceptional recreational activities and programs for all ages and abilities at facilities across Vaughan.”
The city has eight swimming pools: Al Palladini, Chancellor, Dufferin Clark, Father Ermanno Bulfon, Garnet A. Williams, Maple, Vellore Village and Woodbridge.
Recreational skating, which begins Oct. 18, is available at Al Palladini, Garnet A. Williams, Maple, Rosemount, and Woodbridge Memorial community centres.
The city’s four fitness centres, available to those 14 and older, include Al Palladini, Father Ermanno Bulfon, Garnet A. Williams and Maple. Amenities, including cardio and strength training equipment, squash and racquetball courts, indoor tracks and saunas, vary by facility.
Drop-in aquafitness and aerobics classes are also available and qualified and experienced fitness staff are always on hand.
You should present passes, redeemable until Dec. 31, at the community centre’s customer service desk on the day of your visit.
