When Woodbridge High School first opened in 1958, the hula hoop was the latest fad, minimum wage was $1 and it was the year Elvis was inducted into the army.
The Oscar for Best Picture that year went to The Bridge on the River Kwai, Montreal won the Stanley Cup and Ricky Nelson’s Poor Little Fool topped the charts.
Woodbridge High School/Woodbridge College alumni are invited to a reunion Sept. 19 and 20 to see what else might have changed over the past 50 years. Reunion events include a meet and greet at the Al Palladini Community Centre and decade-themed rooms at the school. Let’s be honest, checking each other out is the main reason we go to our school reunion.
An evening bash is planned for Sept. 20 at the Woodbridge Fairgrounds under a giant marquee featuring the Blackboard Blues Band.

Woodbridge High School opened in 1958 and remained a regular neighbourhood school until 1991, when it became an academy alternative school.
