Hwy. 7 in Woodbridge re-opened Friday afternoon after an investigation into a crash that left a man hospitalized.

At about 4:35 a.m. York Regional Police were called to the Hwy. 7 and Martin Grove Road area after a car collided with a tractor trailer.

The truck was stopped eastbound at a traffic light. When the light turned green, the truck began to proceed and the driver felt a bump at the back of the vehicle after a Mazda rear-ended it, according to police spokesperson Const. Gary Phillips.

The 28-year-old driver of the Mazda was taken to a Toronto hospital and was listed in serious condition by Friday afternoon.

If you have any information about the crash, call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7703, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave a tip at www.1800222tips.com
