August 21, 2008 12:37 AM

Commuters will have a new destination in Whitchurch-Stouffville this fall.

The Lincolnville GO Station, at Bethesda Road and Tenth Line, will be open for riders, of both the train and GO bus, as of Sept. 2.

The new station will feature parking for 150 cars, with room for future expansion, kiss ‘n ride lanes for passenger pick-up and drop off, and will be fully accessible for wheelchairs.

The station will also have ticket vending machines as opposed to an attendant in a booth.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the station takes place Aug. 28.

Before being turned into a station, GO used the property as a layover yard.

The station is expected to be popular with residents of northern Whitchurch-Stouffvillle and Uxbridge.

The schedule for the station can be found at www.gotransit.com.
