The drivers started their engines and they’re off for another year.
The 35th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show took place last weekend and despite being rained out the weekend before, participants enjoyed sunshine and plenty of antique cars.
More than 1,000 visitors and 250 antique and classic cars filled the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum property on Woodbine Avenue.
Families enjoyed not only the obvious eye candy, but live entertainment, children’s activities and heritage demonstrations as well.
In addition, 20 car and truck exhibitors also took home awards for their rides.
The Drivers’ Choice winners were: Antique Winner, Glenn and Kelly Evans; Antique Runner-up, Gord Houston; Early Classic Winner, George Battle; Early Classic Runner-up, Bill Kirsh; Contemporary Classic Winner, Dave West; Contemporary Classic Runner-up, Grant Kitching; Modified Winner, Bill Kamphuys; Modified Runner-up, Bill Hodges; Truck Winner, Paul Smith and; Truck Runner-up, G. M. Smith.
The winners of People’s Choice awards were: Antique Winner, Glen Evans, Antique Runner-up, Michael Lebovic; Early Classic Winner, Ed Wong; Early Classic Runner-up, Bill Kirsch; Contemporary Classic Winner, O’Hara; Contemporary Classic Runner-up, Paul and Nancy Clements; Modified Winner, Doug Kamphuys; Modified Runner-up: John White; Truck Winner, Brian Wilson, and; Truck Runner-up, G.M. Smith.
The annual event is the museum’s largest and longest running fundraising event.
