Get your fair on, Whitchurch-Stouffville.
The 164th Markham Fair opens today and runs through Sunday at the McCowan Road fairgrounds.
Bus service is available from Stouffville, including the Main Street station.
Highlights?
• About 50 pre-loved cars will battle in the popular demolition derby tonight at 7 p.m.
• Bigfoot headlines the monster truck show Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
• Check out the antiques sale in the livestock barn. Fewer and fewer animals in the fair means organizers have had to come up with more creative ways of filling the barn.
• Susan Brown performs Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the entertainment tent. In the past 10 years, Ms Brown has travelled extensively as a guest soloist with Stouffville’s Men of Note and with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
• Also Friday, enjoy the performance of Shania Twin “The Premier Tribute to Shania Twain” in the livestock arena from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
