The Patel family has gotten to know Whitchurch-Stouffville well during the past three years, especially its high school students.
They are increasing that exposure this fall.
Brijesh and Minal Patel, who took over the Subway store on Main Street in 2005, opened Stouffville’s second outlet, at 1076 Hoover Park Dr., last month. The new restaurant is in the Wal-Mart/Canadian Tire SmartCentre complex just off Hwy. 48.
The official opening is Oct. 17 and 18.
“Our valued customers from Stouffville and surrounding areas have made us feel welcome and supported us,” Mr. Patel said, “especially the (Stouffville District Secondary School) students with their constant support and extreme maturity during their visits to our store. Stouffville has a very mature student population.”
The Patels have hired several local residents to work at both stores.
There are more than 29,000 Subway locations in 87 countries. The first restaurant in Canada opened in 1986 in St. John’s, Nfld.
